WHERE IN THE WORLD DID MARCH GO?

Oh my! It seems like just yesterday this school year started! Each month seems to be slipping by more quickly than the one before.

I hope everyone enjoys a safe and fun Spring Break next week! I hope all my students will take the Spring Break Reading Challenge and earn a bag tag!

The book fair is going on this week - just in time for the Spring Break Reading Challenge!
Students may make purchases from 7:15-7:45 each morning or 1:30-2:00 each afternoon.

We will be taking the End of the Grade Milestones tests the week after Spring Break. Testing will begin on Wednesday, April 15 and will continue through Tuesday, April 21. Make-up tests will be administered through Friday, April 24.  It will be of utmost importance for your child to get plenty of sleep, breakfast, and to arrive on time each day. Please know that it is also important that your child is at school all day and early check-out should be avoided if at all possible as we will be reviewing for upcoming tests. This will be your child's chance to shine and show what he or she has learned.

MATH - We are measuring, classifying, and decomposing angles. We will review area and perimeter, and learn about line plots. Students should continue to practice all the skills we have worked on this year.
SCIENCE - Our environment is full of interesting creatures and we are learning about their habitats, adaptations, food chains, and food webs.
SOCIAL STUDIES - America! We have learned how the colonies became independent and understand the sacrifices that were made to create our great nation. Today, we experienced the American Revolution and the creation of our government through role play at the Cobb Youth Museum. What an engaging way to learn and review.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS - Students will continue to apply their knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and elements of effective writing. Writing composition counts for 70% of the ELA report card grade. We write narrative, opinion, and informational pieces which are measured against the Cobb County writing rubrics.
SPELLING - Sort 30 has been posted at  SPELLING CITY and SPELLERZ (code FWW482).
